Asian On Air: Seoul Trip Day 1

Last month, I had the greatest opportunity to travel to South Korea, a country which I really want to visit thanks to the Asian On Air with Korean Air, Buzz Korea and Korea Tourism Organization blog contest! :D My winning post here!

I departed from Malaysia on Sunday night.

It was my first time sitting Korean Air, so I was super excited.

Snuggled myself on my seat, which have plenty of leg space for my short legs.

Food then came, and ohmy, look at the amount of prawns on the noodles. :3

I then slept throughout the 7 hour journey.

And as usual, I could not recognize my luggage as I did not put any indication on it. I actually ran around the conveyor belt before Danny (Korean Air PR) found it. :D The best part of today was actually meeting all the other participants from different countries! There's Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Japan, China, Vietnam and Hong Kong. :D

After a short bus ride, we adjourned to Korean Tourism Organization office for our first briefing!

After a short briefing, then it started. Everyone begin whipping out their cameras, and everyone got to know everyone. :D

Our first group picture! On the process of drawing everyone's character right now, too much work but I can't wait to finish them!

We then proceeded to Gwangjang Market for lunch and street food!

Gwangjang Market is a place where you can find all sorts of Korean local street food, as well as basic necessities to buy like shoes, blankets, medicine and etc.

My first Korean lunch was at a Park Family's Mung Bean Pancake restaurant!

..where we fuelled our stomach before the KPOP dance lesson at ENT Studio (LOL).

All of us learnt the famous Gangnam Style..

.. and Wonder Girl's Nobody.

Us and Gangnam Style teacher!

So apparently in Korea, teenage girls actually goes to dance lessons in order to be spotted by entertainment agencies to be the next idol star. KPOP is serious business in Korea yo.

The second girl from the left is only 12 years old OMGWTFBBQ.

Our next stop was Samsung D'light megastore at Seocho-dong, Seoul. D'light is a combination of Digital and Light. It is literally the place to experience everything that Samsung has to offer, from the past, present and future. It is an amazing mix of products, technology, design and art altogether!

The best part of this visit is this:

The interactive LED lighting drums that reacts to your movement.

And this..

A digital wall that follows your finger movement, enabling you to draw and unleash your creativity. T____T I want this in my room.

Dinner was here. Yook-Chil-Pal (678) BBQ.

Behold, gastronomic pork BBQ that might make you super hungry!

I was a little sceptical at first cause I'm not a pork lover, and the amount of fat on the meat scares me a little.

I was still super afraid, cause I believe that one bite will destroy my diet and exercise plans for the past few months.

But if you combine a small piece with all the accompanying condiments, it feels like heaven. /tears

After a heavy dinner, then the trouble started for me. T___________T

I got separated with everyone on my first day in Seoul. Gasp. Getting lost in a city where you know no one and have language barrier is super scary. T_____T

Stay tune for next comic post on this freaky yet exhilirating experience. T____T
